This is an online private chef marketplace, with a revenue stream of €425,000 (€2.2M GMV) annually, which is a 40% YOY growth in 2026. Summary: * We (2 cofounders, 1 tech and 1 sales) went full-time in May 2024 and before that we were part-time (1 day / week) starting in 2022. * Market leader in Netherlands, Belgium & France, also scaled to Belgium, Italy, US, Canada, UK, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Germany and South Africa. We went from nothing to #1 in France within 8 months in 2024, in NL (our home market) which took almost 3 years part-time work. * Bootstrapped * We have a 15% commission (lowest globally) but also charge a "service fee" to the client + sell booking protection for extra margin + gift cards.
Main growth opportunities: - Scale marketing and diversify: Increase investment in proven SEO and paid campaigns, including Google, Meta and TikTok. Advertise on weddings / catering / meal-prep or workshops since the platform has proven to be able to close those already. - Expand PMS and tourism partnerships: Integrate with property-management systems, holiday-rental operators, holiday parks and tourism businesses to offer private chefs as an additional guest experience. This is a growing trend in hospitality and we're early adaptors. 3 PMS are integrated - Improve lead-to-booking conversion: optimize app / web flows in search to booking journeys, introduce instant book options, introduce proactive follow-up and customer success processes, including calls and dedicated B2B sales for larger bookings (there's a lot of demand). - Increase retention and referrals: Build stronger post-booking journeys, repeat-booking incentives, brand visibility during experiences and customer referral loops. 1 event is on average with 8 people, so reaching those people is key. - Strengthen chef retention: Improve chef community, communication, business-management tools and lead quality through the existing mobile app. - Optimise customer communication flows: Improve email, push and messaging flows to increase responsiveness, booking completion, reactivation and repeat purchases. - Expand internationally: Strengthen the existing core markets and monetise inbound demand in the UK (main competitor is about to topple), North America and other European countries. Already 10% of our leads come from North America without us trying to convert there; it's 50% of the global market and on average 2x higher ticket sizes than in the EU. Many North Americans book for example already in France or Italy, so there's a cross-retention opportunity. - Invest in growth capabilities: Add marketing, customer success and B2B sales capacity—or leverage the buyer’s existing catering / brand —to accelerate execution. - Automate operations: Further automate customer support, monitoring and lead follow-up to improve scalability and efficiency. - Explore different commission models: many of our supply are completely hand-tied with current prices and high commissions. Converting to a non-commission / low commission model can unlock real supply stickiness and reduce leakage and increase core marketplace metrics: more reviews, quicker replies and higher conversion rates.
