AI chat organizer Chrome extension: 40K users, 2,100+ paying customers, 92% net margin

A Chrome extension that turns ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok into organized AI workspaces: folders, full-text conversation search, prompt libraries, bookmarks, tags and bulk export. One install works across all four platforms, and conversations are never stored on our servers. Bootstrapped and profitable every month since launch, it grows through SEO, AI answer engines, the Chrome Web Store (where it carries the Featured badge) and word of mouth. Key Highlights - 40,000 Chrome Web Store users, 4.6/5 from 1,000+ ratings, Featured badge, #1 Product of the Day on Product Hunt - 2,100+ paying customers today, including 1,499 Lifetime owners and 753 active subscriptions - $62.2k revenue and $57.6k net profit in August to October 2026, a 92.5% net margin - October 2026 was the best month on record: $22.0k revenue, $20.3k net profit - Revenue up 4.8x year over year (August to October 2026 vs 2025), and net profit has risen every month this year - No Google, Meta or Reddit ad campaigns: 49% of attributed sales come from organic search - Lifetime licences, subscriptions and a Teams tier, across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok

Asking Price Reasoning
Priced at 4x annualized net profit. August to October 2026 produced $57.6k of net profit on $62.2k of revenue (92.5% margin), $230k a year at that rate; October alone ran at $244k a year. The TTM figures on this listing are annualized from those months, the first full quarter after the rebrand and the move to Polar. The calendar trailing twelve months are $130.8k revenue and $120.2k profit because they include the months before May 2026, when three separate extensions were merged into one product; since then revenue has grown every month, up 4.8x year over year. Operating costs are $87 a month with no staff, so nearly all revenue is profit. 40,000 Chrome Web Store users, 53,000 registered accounts and a mostly free base give a buyer upside from conversion, lifecycle work on subscriptions, Teams and paid acquisition.

Business Model
  • Freemium
  • Subscription
  • Business-to-business (B2B)
  • Business-to-consumer (B2C)
Freemium Chrome extension with paid upgrades. Revenue is mostly one-time Lifetime purchases ($99 per platform, $199 All Access for all four platforms): about 69% of revenue over the last three months, including AppSumo. The rest is subscriptions ($9.99/month or $59/year per platform), about 31%. A Teams tier ($12-15 per seat per month, minimum 2 seats) serves B2B with an admin dashboard, seat management and a shared prompt library; it is early, with 4 paying organisations so far. Billing and tax are handled by Polar as merchant of record; a legacy Lemon Squeezy book still bills older subscribers. Also sold through AppSumo.

Three components. (1) Chrome extension: Manifest V3, TypeScript, no UI framework dependency, bundled with Webpack and esbuild; exports use jsPDF, JSZip and html-to-image; auth via JWT (jose). (2) Website: Next.js (App Router) with React, TypeScript, Redux, Material UI and Sass; Google OAuth login; PWA via Serwist. (3) Backend API: Node.js, TypeScript, Express 5, MongoDB (Mongoose), Redis for rate limiting, JWT auth, Puppeteer for PDF rendering, Nodemailer. Everything runs on a single DigitalOcean droplet (Ubuntu, Nginx, PM2) with MongoDB self-hosted on the same server; the marketing site sits behind Cloudflare. Deploys via GitHub Actions on push. Billing and tax by Polar (merchant of record), legacy subscriptions on Lemon Squeezy, transactional and marketing email via Resend, analytics via Google Analytics 4, and the OpenAI API for the optional chat summary feature.
Growth Opportunities
  • Improve conversion rates
  • Hire a sales team
  • Focus on SEO
  • Increase content marketing
  • Increase digital marketing
  • New product features
  • Expand to new markets
Conversion: 53,000 registered accounts and 40,000 Chrome Web Store users, with 2,100+ paying; onboarding, activation, trials and in-product upgrade prompts are the largest untouched lever. Retention: about half of new subscribers pay a second month, and there is no cancellation survey, pause option or annual-plan promotion yet. B2B: 130+ companies already have several employees on individual plans; the Teams tier (admin dashboard, seat management, shared prompt library) is live with 4 paying organisations, and direct outreach to these accounts is a ready pipeline. SEO and content: 49% of attributed sales come from organic search via guide pages; scaling that content is proven. Paid acquisition: sales come from organic channels today, with a 92% margin to fund paid search and Chrome Web Store ads. Product: add modules for further AI platforms (Perplexity, Copilot, Mistral), publish to the Edge and Firefox stores, and localize the UI for the largest non-English markets (India, Brazil, Vietnam, Israel).

Selling Reasoning
  • Starting a new venture
This app has grown to the point where it deserves a full-time owner. Revenue went from $7.9k in May to $22.0k in October 2026, and the next stage (converting more of the 40,000 users and 53,000 registered accounts, selling the Teams tier into the 130+ companies already using it, lifecycle work on subscriptions, paid acquisition) needs focus I'm now putting into other ventures. The product is stable, profitable and fully documented; I'll support the handover and stay available for a transition period.
Financing
  • Bootstrapped
100% bootstrapped and founder-funded. No outside investment, no loans, no grants; all growth has been funded from revenue. No investors or cap-table complexity for a buyer to deal with, no outside shareholders and no debt attached to the business. Operating costs are minimal (a single server, Cloudflare and an email service, $87 a month), so the business has been profitable every month since launch and has never needed external capital.
