Profitable Couples App — $28K MRR, 6K+ Paid Subs, 770K+ Accounts, Organic Growth

This profitable mobile app helps couples stay connected every day through quizzes, mini-games, shared journals, live drawing, and lock-screen widgets. It serves both local and long-distance relationships, has a strong 4.6 App Store rating, and has already grown to 770k+ accounts and 6,000+ active paid subscriptions. Launched in 2025, the business reached about $316k in its first 12 months and now generates roughly $28k MRR with mostly annual plans. Growth has come largely from organic traffic and a TikTok creator program, giving a buyer a proven product with meaningful upside and very little paid marketing history. ✅ 6,000+ active paid subscriptions and ~$371k ARR ✅ Mostly annual plans, supporting strong recurring revenue ✅ Localized in 6 languages with strong traction in Spanish-speaking markets ✅ Clear upside in renewals, paywall testing, and improving partner pairing ✅ Paid acquisition and Android monetization remain largely untapped ✅ Lean, profitable operation run without employees

Asking Price Reasoning
$595k is about 1.8x the current ~$333k annualized recurring revenue, below Acquire's typical 2.5x for mobile apps. Net profit is understated as a measure of earning power: most expenses are a discretionary UGC creator budget that a buyer can tune. Add 6,000+ paid subscribers, a 4.6 rating, 6-language localization, a modern codebase and mostly organic growth with untapped paid acquisition.

Business Model
  • Subscription
  • Freemium
  • Business-to-consumer (B2C)
Freemium mobile app (iOS + Android) monetized through auto-renewing in-app subscriptions via the App Store and Google Play (RevenueCat + Superwall). ~93% of active subscriptions are annual plans, with weekly and monthly options. 6,000+ active paid subscriptions, ~$28k MRR. One premium subscription unlocks the full experience for both partners in a couple. Growth is mostly organic plus a TikTok UGC creator program; very little paid ads spend (<$3k/yr). Note on the ChartMogul churn chart: weekly plans are under 5% of subscribers but ~37% of MRR (a weekly plan counts ~4.3x its price per month), so the monthly net MRR churn (~39% in Sep 2026) is mostly weekly-plan turnover, offset by new weekly sign-ups (MRR grew from $16.5k in Jan to $27.6k in Sep 2026). Customer churn is ~4.5%/month. Annual plans have not reached their first renewal yet: the first large annual cohort renews Nov–Dec 2026.
Tech Stack
  • React Native
  • TypeScript
  • Firebase
  • Node.js
  • Swift
  • Kotlin
Single TypeScript codebase: Expo / React Native app for iOS and Android, with native Swift (WidgetKit) and Kotlin widgets for lock-screen and home-screen. Real-time serverless backend on Convex (database, functions, crons, webhooks). Firebase Auth + push notifications, RevenueCat + Superwall for subscriptions and paywalls, PostHog / Amplitude / AppsFlyer for analytics and attribution, Sentry for crash reporting. AI features via Google Gemini (through OpenRouter). Next.js admin dashboard for content (quizzes in 6 languages). Analytics warehouse in BigQuery.
Growth Opportunities
  • Improve conversion rates
  • Increase digital marketing
  • Expand to new markets
  • New product features
  • Social media marketing
1) Renewals and retention: annual renewal flows (win-back offers, renewal reminders, pricing tests) are barely optimized yet; the first big annual cohort renews Nov–Dec 2026. 2) Pairing: users who pair with their partner retain ~8x better at day 30 than solo users, so improving the invite/pairing funnel lifts both retention and conversion. 3) Android monetization: checkout conversion in Latin America is far below iOS; regional pricing was only just introduced. 4) Paid acquisition: almost no paid ads to date (<$3k/yr on Apple Search Ads); growth so far is organic + a TikTok UGC creator program, so paid UA is an untapped channel. 5) Paywall and trial experiments (free-trial tests have shown up to ~2x revenue per paywall viewer). 6) New markets: already localized in 6 languages with strong Spanish-speaking traction.

Selling Reasoning
  • Starting a new venture
We are two co-founders and we're going our separate ways to work on different things (one on UGC, one on B2B automation). Neither of us will keep running the app day to day, so we want to hand it to an owner who will keep investing in it. The app is healthy and profitable; this is not a distressed sale. We're happy to support a smooth transition and handover.
